Welcome to the L.I.V.E. Program

During this COVID-19 pandemic, in-person visits and hospitalizations pose significant health risks to individuals dependent on home mechanical ventilation and their caregivers.  There is decrease in access to healthcare for this vulnerable population due to the pandemic.

LIVE is a virtual care platform created for the care of individuals reliant on Home Mechanical Ventilation (HMV) at home.  Funded by the Ontario Ventilator Equipment Pool, LIVE is a virtual care solution that overcomes distance and time by bringing the “Right People with the Right Expertise at the Right Time” into the home to improve quality of life, reduce family caregiver burden, and prevent unnecessary hospital admissions.  Co-developed with patients, families and healthcare providers it uses the aTouchAway platform (Aetonix) to provide a virtual safety net for patients and families.
